Letter from Luca: Why the LUCA community matters so much to me

Hey, lovely LUCA Community!

Luca here – I’ve been thinking deeply about something lately and I wanted to share my thoughts on this subject with you:

Women supporting women, and how important it is. Individually and collectively, I feel this is something we need to prioritise, and to consider how we can all take a step in the right direction.

I’ll be honest and admit to moments in the past where I’ve felt jealous of another woman’s success, her looks, her achievements, or the way she carried herself. Maybe you’ve felt it, too? It’s so easy to compare ourselves to others and feel like we come up short.

What if we told them how much we admire them and how brilliantly they’re doing? What if, instead of picking out their flaws to make ourselves feel better, we cheered them on?

I’ve experienced this myself with a mentor who made all the difference.

During a low point filled with doubts, this incredible woman stepped in, offering me practical advice and reminding me of why I started LUCA in the first place. That support was invaluable, and I’m so grateful for it.

Rather than looking at another woman with envy, let’s root for her. Someone else’s shining light doesn’t dim yours in the slightest.

There’s room for all of us to shine.

Since starting LUCA, I’ve been overwhelmed by the support I’ve received – from close friends, distant acquaintances, and even complete strangers who have become cherished friends. I’m so incredibly grateful for the LUCA community that you are part of – a community of women who truly support women.

Weekly Community Rides

We’ve hosted several successful community rides where women came together, where newbie riders found their confidence, and from which a wonderful community has blossomed.

The vision is to have weekly community rides, including beginner sessions. As the colder months set in, we’ll take it indoors to the spin studios, and we’re even planning to start a supper club!

Plans for 2025

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re dreaming big – hosting trips in the UK countryside and abroad, supporting other women and female-led businesses along the way.

If this excites you or if you’re interested in collaborating, please reach out. We’d love to connect!

You can email me at hello@rideluca.com, find LUCA on Instagram and join our CLIQ and WhatsApp groups. I’d love to hear about the times that another woman’s support has made a difference to you.

Thank you for being a part of the LUCA journey with me. Let’s continue to make the world a kinder, better place for all of us.

We are all in this together.

X Luca
